My Experience with NETFLIX
When I first joined Netflix my plan was to be a member only as long as it took me to catch up on some movies I missed. Seven months and ninety-nine rentals later, I’m still enjoying Netflix!
The site is very user-friendly, and improving all the time. Now movies can be moved up and down in the queue with the mouse. Joining was easy as each step is clearly explained. And it’s also a cinch to change how many movies you want at a time, or where they are sent. If you want to take a movie with you when you travel, it can be dropped in any mailbox after viewing. Or it can be watched many times, kept as long as your want, or go back the next day. The same day the mail gets them to Netflix, the next movies in your queue are sent. Most time I receive the new movies the day after Netflix sends them.
As soon as a new movie is released on DVD it will be sent. At times I get them the same day they come out in the stores. Not only are new releases available, but just about any movie anyone would want. Any movie I’ve searched for has always been available.
Since I don’t pay for the premium channels on my cable, I order the ones I want to see from Netflix. There is a wealth of TV selections from years ago to the latest releases for any series. I only started watching “Boston Legal” this season, so I was able to go back and view the previous three.
Netflix lets you rate the movies you view and then gives suggestions of others you may like. This has led me to some of the best movies that I didn’t know about. You can browse for more movies by choosing from different genres, member favorites, decades, studios, and secrets called Easter Eggs that tell how to access extras on certain DVD’s.
When I would go to a movie rental store, often the movie wouldn’t be available. There were even times that the movie turned out to be the wrong one. That’s never happened with Netflix! It’s so much easier to search for a movie on Netflix, and you never wait in a line. So not only do you save gas, but time.
Once I asked some friends if they would like to come watch a movie. That was the beginning of “Movie Night.” We go to different houses, but always have popcorn! Sometimes someone goes on vacation, or can’t make it, but no one has ever dropped out. I send the choices by highlighting the movie titles and pasting them in an email each week. It’s a great way to get together regularly with friends.
Judging by my queue on Netflix, my membership may never end. It’s turned out to be more than I expected, and worth every penny!
